FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Which resort in Egypt is the best location for Technical diving?
A. Well, it depends on what you are looking for out of your dive. If your interest is diving on deeper wrecks then Hurghada is the place to be. If you are looking at deeper reef walls then Sharm El Sheikh has a lot to offer.

Q. I am a certified Technical diver and usually dive with my friends but I am coming out on holiday on my own. Do I need to bring a buddy with me in order to do some technical diving?
A. No you don't. At Tekstreme we provide a technical guide for you for each dive, so you don't have to worry.

Q. I have been looking at your website but I can't find anywhere to make my booking. How can I book my technical diving?
A. All you need to do is send an email to Tekstreme@emeperordivers.com letting us know what you would like to do and our reservations department will promptly take it from there.

Q. I am not sure of the dates that I go on holiday. How early do I need to make a technical diving booking?
A. We advise that you make your booking as soon as you know the dates; this will ensure that we reserve the Instructor / Guide for you. If you leave your booking too late it could be that all of the Tekstreme Team is fully booked and we don't want that to happen.

Q. I don't have any technical equipment of my own, can I rent it for my course?
A. If you are taking a course with us at Tekstreme then all the technical equipment that you require is included in the course price. If you are making Technical dives outside of a course, we have the full range of up to date technical equipment available for hire. (See our price list for full details).

Q. I have been looking at your website at the various courses but I am undecided on which course to take. Which is the best training agency to learn Technical diving through?
A. In all honestly there is no real right or wrong answer to this. Each training agency that we offer, whether it's BSAC, PADI Tec Rec, or TDI, the courses are taught to the highest standards. What I would recommend is not to be afraid of trying each agency as an experienced Technical diver will take parts of each course from each agency to build their experience up.

Q. I want to take a Technical diving course but I would like the student manuals as soon as possible, how can I get these?
A. That's easy. As soon as you make your booking with us at Tekstreme we will send you all the relevant materials that you need so you can start reading at home.

Q. I am a technical diver and have done many dives using a twin set. On my latest holiday I don't want to make any Technical dives but can I rent a twin set from you?
A. No problem at all. All we would ask is that you can show to us that you have had previous experience in diving with a twin set and it's all yours.

Q. I am rebreather diver and would like to come out but to make recreational diving; is it possible for me to dive on my rebreather?
A. This is no problem. At Emperor and Tekstreme, rebreather divers are always welcome. We can provide you with the relevant tanks that you need, your sofnolime and bailout tanks, so you can enjoy diving on your unit.

Q. What are the water temperatures throughout the year?
A.

Q. I am a technical diver, but my partner is not, is it possible for us to still dive from the same boat?
A. This is fine.We would make sure that you get to stay together on the same boat even though you are doing different types of diving. Our daily boats cater for everybody.

Q. I want to make technical dives but I do not want to be out all day, do you have half day boats?
A. It depends on which resort you go to. In Sharm El Sheikh we have a half day boat that travels to the local reefs and is back by 2pm. This boat is suitable for technical divers. In Marsa Alam we have a high speed rib that can offer half day diving. The rib travels out to pretty much all the same dive sites visited by the daily boats but is back in speedy time.
