
THE TDI TRIMIX INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The TDI Trimix Instructor Course provides the training required to competently and safely teach breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression to a maximum depth of 100m. The objective of this course is to train Instructors to teach the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilising custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases.
To take this course you must:
Be a minimum age of 21
Show proof of minimum certification as a TDI Advanced Trimix Diver
Show proof of minimum certification as a TDI Extended Range Instructor (or equivalent)
Show proof of minimum 250 logged dives (30 Trimix dives, 20 deeper than 55m)
Meet one of the following experience requirements:
- Certify at least 10 Extended Range Divers to depths of at least 50m
- Assist with at least two complete Advanced Trimix classes taught by a TDI Trimix Instructor and provide a letter of recommendation from the assisted instructor(s)
The course lasts five days with four training dives with a minimum accumulated bottom time of 100 minutes. Two of the dives must be deeper than 70m.
