Ras Mamlach
Situated in the Abu Galum National Park, this is the highlight of a week's Tek diving. It's a 1 ½ hour drive along the desert road by Jeep to get there but it's a worthwhile trip. The reef starts at about 12 m, with a beautiful coral garden and on to steep wall that bottoms out at 70m+. Beautiful fan - table corals covered with soft corals and the intensive blue of the Gulf of Aqaba, a fantastic picture. The variety of the underwater life opens a new world; Barracudas, Jackfish, Groupers and much, much more. Two dives are not enough to see everything!
Ras Abu Gallum
The two hour off road drive is rewarded by an impressive wall dive. Easy access to a sandy bay leads to a wall that drops sheer to 90m. Napoleon fish are regular visitors here along with an occasional shark. There is a Bedouin encampment here that offers refreshments to the thirsty Tek diver!

The Blue Hole
The Blue Hole is by far, the most famous Tek dive site in the Red Sea. Because of the depth involved, the Blue Hole got a reputation as a difficult dive. You'll discover a magnificent arch at 55 m opening to the outside reef. The bottom of the hole is actually a nice slope going down to 100 m+. The decompression stops can easily be done on the outside reef, or on the way to the Bells, another dive site nearby. The open water here is some of the clearest, deepest blue you have ever seen. The Wall is also magnificent, it is vertical and in parts overhanging with a rich growth of black corals and sea fans.
The Canyon
Ancient volcanic activity created this huge fissure now overgrown with hard and soft corals, which form many tunnels and grottos. The exit from the lagoon is at about 4 metres. We put the left shoulder to the reef and head down to about 15 metres. We skirt along the reef for about 5 minutes until we swim right into the canyon. The exit of the canyon is around 55m and another canyon is just waiting a few metres deeper.
Ras Abu Helal
Similar to and not far from the famous canyon, this is the other site's smaller brother. A shorter, deeper canyon starts at 23m and runs down to 60. Because of the depth, this site is less frequented by recreational divers, and the coral is untouched. Also worth exploring is the drop-off between here and the Canyon.
Gabr El Bint
"The Grave of the Girl", once a Bedouin village, is now just the deserted mouth of a wadi 2 hours by camel from Dahab. The site can be dived to the left or the right of the easy entrance, both sides dropping off from a shallow coral table of 10m down to a shelf of 70m. Giant formations of black coral and a gorgonian forest await at depth. This site makes an excellent decompression dive because of the spectacular coral formations at all depths.
